The most common question we get from business owners on the Central Coast is: "How much does a vehicle wrap cost?" The honest answer is that it depends — but this guide gives you real numbers from our Santa Maria shop so you can budget without surprises.

What Affects the Price of a Vehicle Wrap?
1. Vehicle Size
The biggest driver of cost is the square footage of vinyl required. A Prius takes far less material and labor than a Ford F-350 crew cab dually. When quoting, we always ask for the make, model, and year — body style matters too (crew cab vs. regular cab, extended vs. standard wheelbase).
2. Coverage Area
A partial wrap covering only the doors and rear costs significantly less than a full wrap that covers every panel including the roof. Many contractors on the Central Coast go with partial wraps on work trucks — logo, name, and phone on both doors — and get 80% of the brand impact at half the price.
3. Design Complexity
A simple two-color layout with your logo and contact info is quick to design and print. A full-color photographic wrap with gradients, cutouts, and multiple graphic elements takes more design time and specialized printing. We offer graphic design in-house so you are not paying a separate agency.
4. Material Grade
We use cast vinyl (3M 1080 series or Avery Supreme Wrapping Film) for all vehicle wraps. Cast vinyl conforms to curves and complex body lines, resists shrinkage, and lasts 5–7 years. Calendered vinyl is cheaper but cracks faster and is harder to remove cleanly — we do not use it for vehicle wraps.
5. Number of Vehicles
Fleet orders of 3 or more vehicles receive a 10–15% discount on installation because setup and design costs are spread across the order. If you run a landscape crew, plumbing company, or cleaning service with multiple vehicles, call us for a fleet quote.
Is a Vehicle Wrap Worth the Money?
A wrapped work truck generates an estimated 30,000–70,000 impressions per day in a typical market. At a cost of $3,500–$5,000 for a full wrap lasting 5 years, that works out to less than $0.01 per impression — cheaper than virtually any other form of advertising. For a local service business where trust and name recognition drive calls, it is one of the highest-ROI marketing investments available.
At Customize It, our wraps pay for themselves within the first year for most of our clients. RM Sanitation, Lorenzo's Plumbing, and Luna & Sons Landscaping all came back to wrap additional vehicles after seeing results from their first.
